Aaron Casteel

Peace Architect

I am fueled by intense curiosity for people's feelings, values and needs. I've spent my life developing active listening skills and the ability to find opportunity in conflict. My style is personable, open-minded and patient. I create safe, supportive spaces that enable people to reach sustainable agreements.

I come to the practice of peace building from a 30 year career as a high tech business leader. My roles ranged from startup founder to senior product manager for a leading Silicon Valley firm. I have sold and negotiated multimillion-dollar contracts, led major acquisition programs and driven high performance with global cross functional teams.

I am the Executive Director of the non-profit Placer Dispute Resolution and serve as a board member and volunteer mediator for The Conflict Resolution Center of Nevada County. In these roles, I support my local community by providing conflict resolution services through the courts and beyond. I have completed a professional concentration in conflict resolution at UC Davis among other formal trainings.

My life's purpose is to help others build peace.

About

Vision: Within every conflict is the opportunity for growth and self-actualization through the achievement of peace.

Mission: To empower others to achieve peace by providing a blueprint and supporting them as they resolve their conflicts.

Core Values

Integrity

The cornerstone of ethics is a consistent and uncompromising adherence to ones values. Integrity also means being impeccable with your word.

All criticism, attack, insults, and judgments vanish when we focus attention on hearing the feelings and needs behind a message. The more we practice in this way, the more we realize a simple truth: behind all those messages we've allowed ourselves to be intimidated by are just individuals with unmet needs appealing to us to contribute to their well-being.
